2019 Winter Newsletter

Old Man Winter 2019 is here for a couple more weeks…

Happy New Year Cobblestone

We are almost a month into the new year and as expected the cold has kept most of us inside this winter. Spring can’t come soon enough. The BOD sent out a Dues Notice and Community Status letter at the end of December. The good news is the Dues was kept at the current level for another year. A concerned community member brought up the fact that some of our neighbors may be affected by the recent government shutdown. If any of our residents are affected by this, please contact the BOD through the website so we can work with you.

The community status letter referenced the need to hire a management firm to run our community if we did not get volunteers for the BOD. Thankfully, several of our community members have stepped up to run the BOD for 2019. This will keep our community business In-house and help keep our fees down. We will broadcast the positions as soon as they are formalized. Please keep an open mind about participating in future community positions as we will need new volunteers on a yearly basis.

  • Unfinished business

We are looking for Volunteers to be on the Board.

The current BOD has been working for the community for the past two (2) years. All the members on the current BOD (3 residents) will not be able to fill these positions in 2019. There will be a need for other community members to step up to on the BOD. I’m sure that all of us in the community take great pride in being able to manage our own resources without the influence or structure of outside entities. To keep that In-house ownership of our community, we will need other members of the community to take on the responsibility or serving on the board. If you have not shared in the responsibility of governing our community, please consider a role on the BOD.

The current BOD is also getting proposals from outside management companies to conduct the community’s business. Having a management company conducting the business of the HOA will relieve residents from serving on the BOD, but it wall also bring added costs associated with the service.

The current BOD has worked very hard in keeping our annual dues at their current levels, and they are staying the same for 2019’s budget, but that will costs will have to be evaluated and adjusted if we bring on an outside management company.

If you would like to be part of the solution and run for a position on the BOD, please respond to nominate or volunteer. Discussion and voting will occur at the community meeting.
